Stylish Downtown Engagement Session in a Sculpture Park

Rea and Jared came down from Minneapolis for their engagement session, making the most of a weekend visit to Des Moines. They’re getting married at the Des Moines Art Center and have family ties here, so it was the perfect excuse to spend some time in the city. Even with the unseasonably cold April weather—11 degrees!—they made it look effortless.

We started in the Western Gateway neighborhood, wandered through the Pappajohn Sculpture Park (with their sweet pup, Suki), and then headed over to the Greater Des Moines Botanical Gardens to wrap our session. These two have such great style, I can hardly wait to see what they put together for their wedding. Slowly but surely, we're checking off all the iconic Des Moines photo locations together. ❤️
