Snowy Winter Elopement in a Cedar Forest Greenhouse

Just a few days into the New Year, Maya and Wade eloped with their closest loved ones at Iris Aisle, which happens to be one of my most favorite intimate wedding venues on earth.

Maya got dressed with her mom’s and sisters’ help in a little cabin in the cedar forest, and I could tell it was going to be a tender and emotional day because everyone in the room had a hard time holding back tears as Maya was getting ready. She wore a simple white gown, and carried white bouquet she arranged herself. Maya’s dad came to the cabin to walk her to the ceremony, which was held in Iris Aisle’s stunning glass Victorian conservatory.

Maya and Wade exchanged their vows between many, many tears in the greenhouse, which is bright and warm even in January. After the ceremony, guests joined in on a sweet champagne toast served with a nostalgic 1950s style wedding cake made by the amazing Whitney Peter of Cake Baby. While everyone enjoyed dessert, we snuck away into the trees for some newlywed photos.

Outside it was a winter forest dream scenario – It was blue hour, and the gorgeous dusty blue juniper berries played oh so nicely with the blue-tinged evening shadows. This time of day out at Iris Aisle is just magical, especially when there is fresh snow on the evergreen branches. But we nearly froze, so Maya and Wade made their way back to the cabin to warm up on the beautiful green Victorian sofa. After we parted ways, these two sweet lovebirds rejoined their families for a dinner reception at Trostel’s Greenbriar.

One of the things I love most about Iris Aisle is that it’s truly an effortless place to have your wedding at any time of year, in any season. It’s always just so gorgeous out here, and the venue owners Raelyn and Earl do such an amazing job of running this venue and taking great care of all of their couples and guests. I just love to work with them and I’m excited to be back here for more weddings in the spring and fall this year!
